Acne Treatment

Pharmacist-led acne treatment for blackheads, spots, and inflammatory breakouts

Overview

Acne is a common condition caused by blocked pores, excess oil, and skin inflammation. Gilbert & Johnson Pharmacy provides private acne treatment pathways with pharmacist review and clinically appropriate topical options for mild to moderate acne.

What is Acne?

Acne develops when hair follicles become blocked by oil and dead skin cells. Bacterial overgrowth and inflammation then lead to spots, pimples, and in some cases deeper painful lesions. Acne often affects the face, chest, shoulders, and back, and can impact confidence and skin quality if left unmanaged.

Common acne presentations

Blackheads & Whiteheads

Non-inflammatory blocked pores caused by oil and dead skin buildup

Papules & Pustules

Inflamed red spots, sometimes with visible pus

Nodules

Deeper painful lumps under the skin needing close monitoring

Cysts

Severe inflamed lesions with higher risk of scarring
